Why did Israel fight against the Midianites? A vengeance for causing Israel to sin at Baal-Peor

Who were killed? All males

Can you name one who was killed that was not a Midianite? Balaam

Why was Moses angry with the captains of the army? They spared the women that were the stumblingblock for Israel

The plunder was divided into two parts. Who got each half? Half for the fighting men; half for the rest of the nation

What portion did the Levites get? two percent of the people’s part; two-tenths percent of the army’s part

Why did the officers of the army make a special gift to the Lord? Because they did not lose a single man in the battle

Which tribes wanted to settle east of the Jordan instead of in Canaan? Reuben, Gad, half of Manasseh

What was Moses’ initial reaction? He thought they were like the people who refused to enter when the spies brought back an evil report and caused 40 years’ wandering in the wilderness; Moses was concerned that their attitudes would have the same effect
