What is to be brought with any peace or fellowship offering? The appropriate grain offering of fine flour and oil and drink offering of wine
Note the different amounts for offering corresponding to the main peace offering. For a lamb: one-tenth ephah of flour and one-fourth hin of oil and one-fourth hin of wine; for a ram: two-tenths ephah of flour and one-third hin of oil and one-third hin of wine; for a bull: three-tenths ephah of flour and one-half hin of oil and one-half hin of wine
When would a sinner be forgiven of an unintentional sin? When the sacrifice is made
When would a sinner be forgiven of a presumptuous sin? He won’t be forgiven
What happened to the man gathering sticks on the Sabbath? He was put to death by stoning
Why were the people to put tassels on their garments? To remind them to keep God’s commands
Who were the ringleaders of the rebellion against Moses and Aaron in chapter 16? Korah, Dathan, and Abiram
How many men stood with them? 250
What were their criticisms of Moses and Aaron? They took too much authority upon themselves; they took Israel away from a land flowing with milk and honey (Egypt) to be killed in the wilderness; they failed to lead them into the land of promise
What was God’s immediate reaction? For Moses and Aaron to get away from the whole congregation because He was going to consume all of them
What did Moses say to the Lord to save Israel? “O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, should one man sin, and You be angry with all the congregation?”
What test was done to prove whom God has appointed to lead? The men were to offer incense before the Lord, and the Lord would show whom He approved
What special sign occurred to prove that the leaders against Moses were also against God? The earth opened up and swallowed Korah, Dathan, and Abiram with all their household and possessions
What happened to the 250 men who offered incense to God? Fire went out from the Lord and consumed them
What was done with their censers? They were beaten to make a bronze cover for the bronze altar
Why? To remind everyone who comes near the sanctuary that only the priests have the right to offer incense before the Lord
What did the people say against Moses and Aaron the next day? “You have killed the people of the Lord!”
What was God’s reaction? He wanted to consume the people in a moment; a plague started
How did Aaron stop it? By taking incense and burning it in the midst of the assembly; that stopped the plague from continuing
What miracle did God do to demonstrate that He had chosen Aaron and not those of other tribes to serve as priests? A man from each tribe was to present his staff; the staff that would blossom would be God’s sign of the person He has chosen to be priest and for Israel to stop criticizing the leadership of Moses and Aaron
