When did Abraham begin the journey? Early the next morning

How many days did they travel? Three days

Another element in the story that relates to the sacrifice of Jesus. Hebrews 11:19 says that Abraham received Isaac from the dead in a figurative sense. When God said to offer Isaac, Abraham considered Isaac as good as dead. That was the subjective sense in which Isaac was dead. Abraham had every intention of putting Isaac to death, but understood that God had the power to raise him from the dead. When Isaac is spared, he was considered alive again. This was three days later, just as Jesus was literally raised from the dead on the third day.

Does Abraham’s statement to the servants (verse 5) imply that Abraham has faith? Yes, he said WE will return after worshiping God

Who carried the wood for the sacrifice? Isaac

Jesus carried His cross until He could carry it no farther en route to His crucifixion.

How did Abraham answer Isaac’s question, “Where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God will provide for Himself a lamb”

What did the Lord provide? A ram caught in the thicket

God provided Jesus as a sin offering in our place just as God offered a ram in the place of Isaac. John said Jesus is the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).

What promise did God make to Abraham after his sacrifice? Through his seed all nations would be blessed.

This is fulfilled in Jesus, not Israel (Galatians 3:16-19, 26-29)

Why did Abraham want to buy some property at Hebron? To bury Sarah; he knew his descendants would inherit the land 400 years later. This was an act of faith on his part.
