Answers to January 21 Questions

What is Bildad‘s main point in chapter 8? It is a universal principle that the wicked suffer and the righteous are blessed. If Job would repent, he would be blessed much more than he was blessed before.

Do you disagree with anything that he said? v.6 is based on the false assumption that Job did wrong and that is the reason he is suffering. He also makes the mistake of guaranteeing physical prosperity if Job repents.

What does Job say about man‘s relationship to God? God has so much more wisdom and power that man cannot make his case before Him

Does Job believe he is innocent? yes

Does he believe that God thinks he is innocent? no

What does Job want in 9:33? a mediator that could persuade God to see Job's side

Has God provided this? yes, Jesus is our mediator and advocate 1 Tim. 2:5, 1 John 2:1

What is Job’s big question in chapter 10? Why did God make him? Why does He make him only for him to suffer?

Job wants a mediator between God and man because God is unreachable, being much more superior in power, knowledge, wisdom, etc. This shows the need for Jesus because He is the one mediator 1 Timothy 2:5. The book of Job is written in order to express and magnify man's need for Christ. Only He fulfills all of man's spiritual yearnings.
