Answers to January 24 Questions

According to the first three verses, how did Bildad interpret Job’s words? Mostly as arrogance, along with foolishness and insulting his friends' intelligence

What is Bildad’s main point in this chapter? The wicked suffer. His descriptions seem to be pointed at Job, especially when you read how Job describes some specific ways in which he has and is suffering. Also notice that all these descriptions have to do with earthly loss.

Is Job literal in 19:3? no, but the last part of verse 3 could be interpreted literally

Had they reproached him ten times? It has literally been five times.

What is Job saying in verse 4? IF he has sinned, it is between God and him. It is not their business; he has not sinned against them.

According to Job 19:6, what has God done to him? Job said that "God had wronged" him and trapped him in His net.

Who did the things Job mentions in 19:8-13? Job said that God did them to him.

What sufferings does Job mention in 19:14-20? alienation from everyone he loves; he is repulsive even to his own wife, small children

Does Job still have faith in God? Explain. Yes. He believes in life after death, the judgement, and that God is just. He also said that his Redeemer lives.
