Answers to February 21 Questions

Where must sacrifices be offered? At the tabernacle on the bronze altar

What is to be done with anyone who offers sacrifices elsewhere? They are to be cut off from the people

Why is the eating of blood forbidden? The life is in the blood and is to be used for atonement

How could a man live by the law God gave Israel? By doing the things God said

What sexual relations are forbidden in 18:6-18? Incest with near relatives

What other things are forbidden in chapter 18? Sex during menstruation, adultery, human sacrifices, homosexuality, bestiality

Why was the land of Canaan going to spew out the Canaanite nations? Because of the abominations listed in this chapter and other passages in the law

Why were the Israelites to leave the corners of their fields unharvested? For the traveler and the poor

List the commands in 19:9-18. Leave the corners of the field for the poor; do not steal or lie; do not cheat your neighbor or curse the deaf or cause the blind to stumble; be fair in justice and do not gossip; do not hold a grudge; in other words, love your neighbor as yourself
