How did he show kindness to Naomi and Ruth? He told the workers to let her glean from the sheaves and let some fall on purpose for Ruth to gather grain more easily

How did Naomi know that Ruth found a good place for gathering grain? Because she brought back an unusual amount for one day
What did Naomi tell Ruth to do? Stay to work in that field and no other
What did Ruth ask of Boaz? To be her kinsman redeemer
What was his answer? He praised her virtue; he explained there was a closer relative than he, so he promised to fulfill this responsibility if the other man would not; she would be secure
What potential obstacle might prevent the marriage of Boaz and Ruth? A relative other than Boaz had the opportunity/responsibility to be the kinsman redeemer for Elimelech’s family; if he were to take his field and estate, including Ruth as wife instead of Boaz
Was the closest relative willing to redeem Elimelech’s field as his kinsman-redeemer? yes
Was he willing to marry Ruth in order for Elimelech to have family heirs? no
How was the redemption of Elimelech’s estate confirmed? He took his sandal off in front of witnesses
