What faith did Jonathan have when he attacked the Philistines? He believed the Lord could save through many people or through a few people
How did he know that God was with him? If the Philistines say, “Come on up to us,” then they would know God would bless their attack on the Philistines
What did God do to help Israel defeat the Philistines? He caused the earth to quake
What oath did Saul impose upon the soldiers? Not to eat anything until evening and they had a victory
Who didn’t know about this oath? Jonathan did not know about it
How did some men sin by how they ate after the battle? They ate meat with the blood still in it
Why did God give Saul no answer when he sought His advice? Because someone had broken the oath
Did Saul intend to kill his son for breaking his oath? yes
Why did he not kill him? The people spoke out against killing the hero of the battle
What did God command Saul to do to the Amelekites? Utterly destroy them and their animals
How was he guilty of disobedience? He spared the king and the best of the animals
What did Saul put on Mount Carmel? A monument for himself
How did Saul try to justify his partial obedience? They were going to offer the animals as sacrifice to the Lord; the people wanted me to do this
What does the Lord love more than sacrifices? obedience
How did Samuel respond when Saul confessed that he had sinned? He refused to worship with him because he rejected the Lord, so the Lord rejected him from being king
According to 15:28, who would rule Israel after Saul? A neighbor better than Saul
