Answers to April 22 Questions

List the nations that David defeated. The Philistines, the Moabites, the towns and army of Hadadezer, the Syrians, the Ammonites, the Amelekites, and the Edomites.

What did David do with the gold and silver from the battles he won? He dedicated it all to God

Why did David want to know if Saul had any living descendants? He wanted to show kindness to them for Jonathan’s sake

Who told David about Mephibosheth? Ziba, a servant of Saul

What responsibility did Saul’s servant receive? He would take care of Mephibosheth’s fields (which were Saul’s estate)

Why did David send messengers to the Ammonite king? To comfort the new king because of the death of his father, the previous king of Ammon, who was a friend of David’s

How were they treated? They were rejected and humiliated—half their beards were cut off, and their clothing for the lower half of the body was cut off

How did David respond to this? He sent his army to attack Ammon
